In order to participate to the School on “Comparative Urban Studies” you have to go through the following application procedure.

 

  1. 1) Send in your abstract to the relevant session coordinator (for a list of sessions see here http://www.centrodametropole.org.br/ISA2009/html/sessions.html). When you send in your abstract please specify that you also apply for the school in “Comparative Urban Studies”
     

  2. 2) Send in your application (online, see below the form);

  3.  

IMPORTANT: Be aware of the fact that the deadlines are:

 

1) May 15th for the abstract submission;

2) May 30th for the scholarship application.

 

 

PARTICIPATION  FEE
The fee for the course is 400 Euro (approx. 585 USD). This amount covers organizational costs and includes accommodation (6 nights in double rooms), a welcome reception, the e-reader and the final dinner. For those who do not need accommodation, the fee is 200 Euro (approx 283 USD). Selected applicants will be informed about the payment procedures.

SCHOLARSHIPS
In case you apply for one of the 15 fellowships available, please download the form, fill it in and send it within the following deadline: May 30th, 2009.

The Scholarship covers the following costs:

  • 1)      First School registration fee & RC21 conference fee

  • 2)      Accommodation in a shared double room from the 16th to the 25th of August 2009

  • 3)      Flat travel costs contribution (up to max 450 Euro, according to distance)

  • 4)      eReader accompanying the lectures

  • 5)      Welcome reception drink

  • 6)      Farewell dinner

All other costs (board, local transportation, etc.) have to be covered directly by you.

 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
 In order to be eligible for a scholarship you have to:

  1. a) Come from a country classified under category “B” and “C” by ISA (see: http://www.isa-sociology.org/table_c.htm).

  2. b) Have an accepted abstract for the RC21-CEM conference “Inequality, Inclusion and the Sense of Belonging”. If your abstract will not be accepted this will not automatically exclude you from the School.

  3. c) Send in two reference letters by scholars who know you best (by e-mail) to yuri.kazepov@uniurb.it

  4. d) Send in your CV in English.

  5. e) Send in the application form to the School (download above).
